I re did my front door speakers this weekend. (97 coupe GT) It had a 1 red and 1 gray wire from the 5.25 terminal that went up to the tweeter. I soldered those two puppies to either side of the terminal on the new speaker and away she went.

Thanks I will look at that asap. I did not get to work on the speaker issue this past weekend but I don't recall a red and gray I thought it was red and black but maybe I am more color blind than I thoughtThanks
