I have a factory bose system and recently the sound fades in and out front and rear speakers do it also when there is a cd playing. Any ideas what could be the problem. I would say your factory amp is likely overheating though I haven't seen one do that before, just my 2 cents

My amp has probably failed as well. Sound was dying out, then there was no sound from loudspeaker in the rear. Now i replaced speakers but sound is still not there, woofers get some power but loudspeakers are quiet. I dont know what to do replace it or rewire to power directly from head unit. And what to do since there 8 speakers but unit gives out for 4 only. Have anyone done that?

If you already have an aftermarket headunit, you could just wire into it. The problem is going to be that the bose system runs 4 speaker outputs out back and two up front. So you will either have to remove the midbass, remove the loudspeaker, or run them in parellel to your decks rear output. I'm pretty certain the rear speakers run at 8 ohms out back so parralel would be okay, but let me head out to my shop here in the next day or two and check and see if mine are 8 ohm or 4 ohm i still have them sitting out in a tub of the old stuff that used to be in my grand prix, if you wanna see what it all looks like I have a build log up on DIYmobileaudio.com under the same Deathjunior name and you can check out the rear deck. The build for that part isn't fully done but you can atleast see some photos of the bose package and its speakers. I'm gonna be pulling my amp and replacing it with 3.

This is sickening install man!! Hats down. I wish i would do it like this, but i know im not going to keep car for very long time. I actually put there polk loudspeakers as well. And i have big love for kenwood decks. They are incredibly solid once had it in my buick, now have jvc- that falling apart on me. With so much dampening in the car now it probably sound completely different? My pontiac very much noisy, my those top door sealers are almost all broken off, so hear all the wind, plus plastic and my hard eibach springs all road vibration. And i would so appreciate to find out how you wired those rear speakers since i know there something wrong with mine. Im now leaning towards completely rewire it to run directly from unit, since its little simplier, and my junky jvc suppose to output Peak: 70 watts x 4 channels RMS: 35 watts x 4 channels. So i guess ill take it apart again to see what could be causing its screen flickering, and run it again. And excited to remove Pac os1 **** out since it creates so much of freaking ground noise- HORRIBLE!!!!!
