I have the Bose package in my 01 GTP. The whole system sounds great when turned up. Only problem is the rear speakers arent nice like the front. It appears only the front speakers are Bose and the rear are some delcos or something.

I would like recommendations to upgrade the rear speakers. I also have a 4 channel Alpine amplifier that I currently do not use. I noticed the car already uses one though. Could I use it for the rear speakers? Should I?

What speakers should i throw in there? Any setups/upgrades you recommend?

    Thank you!

i had memphis "power reference" in my old gt...they put out very good sound for the price and the alpine amp should be plenty of power to push them.

there are no bose speakers in your car, bose licensed the name to audiovox. Brand wise there are literally a million choices, if possible go and listen to a few things in stores (i prefer small stores so you hear what you are listening to, not the guy buying a home theater)

    ! AUDIOVOX! Man....

No highs, no lows, it must be bose

Ill look into the speakers. I would like to run a better amp to the speakers though. Do you think the stock amp in the trunk would give me enough play to easily hook up a diffrent amp? A alpine 4 channel to be exact

While your going shop to shop listening, take your own CD. That way you know what it sounds like to your taste. If the shop doesnt let you play your own then they don't want your business.

the stock amp uses speaker level connections, so if you hook up your aftermarket one to them, you will have noise, run some rca's it is easy

Most amps have a speaker level input too. Either use that or use a LOC. An amp on some nice 6x9s in the rear deck will sound really good.

I should clarify. I install for Best Buy, so you know, most of the crap they sell has speaker level inputs. I think the Alpines even have them, not for sure though. I always sell LOCs, even if the amp has speaker level inputs.

I hate loc's with a passion, all they do is introduce noise for the most part

What do you use then? I guess since 99% of the amps we install are for subs, introduced noise is not much of a problem.

if possible I change the head unit, stock ones are noisy to start with, and break too easy, if not then I use a good loc (less than 5% of jobs I do get a loc) I am also one that believes if you have an amp for subs you want an amp for everything, head units never have enough power to balance things , plus crossovers are easier to setup then also

I had the Bose setup in my GTX and the one thing I did that made a world of difference in the beginning was simply swapping out the stock HU with only bass and treb for another stock unit that had the 5 band EQ in it. That made up for some of the lost sound in the Bose speaker set. Its not aftermarket quality mind you, but if you are on a budget and want a simple upgrade to your stock setup, that is one thing worth looking into.
