hey I have 2 12" MTXs with stock head unit, 1000w mono amp. Has anyone else done a setup like this? I find the subs more so hit hard rather than throw "good" bass. Is this because the head unit is stock??? Thats what Im guesing. Its still loud though.

also i get a ton of trunk rattle in my 04 gtp. WIll dynomat stuff help this or not?

Nothing wrong with your head unit. Granted, it's nothing special, but nothing wrong with it. Did you properly tune your amp?
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

amp has been tuned right. I have tuned it many different ways and no way is much "different" sounding than another. I will always get that "thump" from the subs no matter what. Its really weird i have heard a lot of systems and only one in about 10 systems will hit as hard as mine yet they can be louder.

yes, its because the headunit is stock. I put the same kind of setup in my gf's 04 gt and the subs are loud, yet they sound like they lack proper tuning. The sound quality is not there. If you get an aftermarket hu, the sound quality will be there because of the dedicated sub output.
