Thanks matt... so i don't have to worry about this statement? " If there is an aftermarket speaker in there (eg: my new 5 1/4's) and you connect the tweeters, the impedance will drop and will blow your head unit in time"??

At first I just wired an extra pair of tweets to the 5.25" in the door and put them in the little triangle by the mirrors, worked good...

I think he means he stuffed more tweeters in there, although it does look like he drilled the holes himself loll.

No, they didn't come wit holes or tweets. I did go to the junkyard and find some that do have holes in them and put those in. But those holes are smaller in diameter, I put 1" tweets in there and wonder if the sound comes out as much...

If the stock tweeters were unplugged, there is a good chance that the p/o changed the stock midrange to a coaxial speaker. You will want to check that and make sure. If there is an aftermarket speaker in there and you connect the tweeters, the impedance will drop and will blow your head unit in time.
Please explain the comment on the tweeters. I kept mine connected, as well. If I need to tear the doors apart again to disconnect, I'll do it, but would like an explanation. Why will less impedance blow a head unit? Right now, they're wired into the connector harness that came with the speakers, not in series.
