Go to PAC's website and research.
i installed the same unit with an alpine HU. after reading and re-reading the instructions, the install went well. i think it was the green wire? that needed to be connected to the car.
what wires am i attaching them to on the vehicle?????
how well does this interface work? I'm looking at getting one for the girlfriend's car so she can have a cd player in her car and still be able to use the steering wheel controls that she's so used to.
+1 on the Axxess one. That is what I used for my 2000 GTP and Pioneer 6200BT. Hooked up I think 1 wire and plugged in the cable into the radio. About 15 seconds later, it self programmed and was done.
I did the pac on the Bonneville and thought it was good. I did an Axxess on the Regal... I'll only buy Axxess from now on. Press one button and poof, youre done.
It sounds like you need the instructions for the pac. Hit their site and grab it..
im still confused as to where to wire it???? what harness am i hooking it to?
there's like 5 wires to hook up and i have no idea where they go... the directions are confusing and the website doesn't have anything for my new grand prix in the way of installation directions....
did you buy an axxess or are you still trying to wire in the pac? The pac is very complicated compared to the axxess but you should have a 12+ acc and ground connection that you need to wire it to. If its an axxess they have a tech support number you can call and they will walk you through it.
I know the directions with the pac system is crazy. Do you have the Bose system?
Forgive my last post, the connections are the same whether you have Bose or not.
There should be 4 connections you have to make from the Pac, one is the plug that goes into the jack of the radio.
The other 3 are ground (black), power (red) and your audio control wire (green)
Connect black to ground, and red to your 12v switched wire (same wire as you used to connect your radio)
For the audio control wire this should help:
Search
Whether you have bose or not the wire you need to connect the green wire to the wire coming out of pin 17 on your haness. (refer to the photo) Follow the directions on your chart given by the pac unit as to which wire to connect to (it should give you a color reference as well) and it will tell you if you need to cut the brown or violet looped wire coming out of the pac unit as well. Sorry I have a '07 and use a different pac unit so my chart doesn't have your vehicle on it.
Once you have it connected, you go through the programming process.
