My car is an 04 gtp with the moonsoon system. I lost the rear speakers the other day and now none of it works at all. It wont even delay lock the doors anymore. The fuse is good so im not sure what is going on.

thats pretty weird sounds like a wiring issue of some kind. you could check to see if its a comp problem first tho and un hook your battery for the night. see if it still does it in the morn

I may have it figured out. I know that these newer cars are running on a higher voltage. But i think that the alternator is bad. It was showing 15 volts last night with the lights on. Seems very high to me. Also throwing a u1301 code too. But if not I will try the battery thing.

Yeah that seems a little high. But if your getting that code I would still check the wires to the speakers, since everything else still seems to work correctly.

In talking with I800, 15 wasn't that uncommon when cold.

I did a load test on the alt and it was good but the battery is junk. so Its just charging hi to keep up. The speaker wires are good I have checked them. The radio will still back light but wont work. I check all the bcm's with a scanner and there were no codes? Guess its time to pull the radio and start probing wires. If I could get that and a tune done so it wont lean out id be happy again. Im almost ready just to paint it lemon yellow though. Never had this much trouble with a car ever!

Well if you find out that your radio is shot, let me know because I have a factory radio for an 04+ for sale

But I would pull the radio out and make sure everything is connected correctly, If it is, start testing each different colored wire...

Ok Finally got to play around with it a bit. The fuse is good. I pulled the radio and I have no 12v power on the orange wire at all. I made a jumper and it powers up and works, but the rear speakers still dont. Going to take it to the shop tomorrow and take it all apart and trace the wires. O the fun of a GM car with issues. Makes me want a mustang almost!

Did you ever figure out what was causing your u1301 DTC? It doesn't appear to be very common. My Bonneville set the code this morning. Don't have any other problems that I no off. Car has 180,000 plus miles.

Isn't that code "short to battery?"
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

It has something to do with serial comunication between nodes and short to battery.
