Hello, new to the forums... I have a few things that are happening to my 2002 grand prix gt.

The first thing has been happening for a long time now. The air conditioning only works on full blast, if it is on 1 2 3 or 4 it doesn't work... and the head lights go off if it is put to those non working levels...

Second just happened recently. When I shift my car into park... the trunk pops...

    any ideas?

welcome to the forums, i can tell you that the A/C problem is your blower motor resistor, its probably fried and needs replaced. the headlights going off with that problem is something ive never heard of but will hopefully go away with the replacement of the resistor. as for the trunk popping when in park, not sure, never heard of that either hopefully someone will chime in who knows about that

I'm pretty sure the headlight and a/c problem is the ignition switch (had same problem with my old 02 GT) it has something to do with the drl's being all wired through ignition switch. As far as the trunk problem no idea.

I've also heard/seen issues with blower control/headlights being part of the ign switch. Seems like they pulled 99% of the power for the car on a 50gauge wire in the ignition switch. lol

Trunk popping.. check the button in the glove box. If it's stuck or something that could happen.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Thank you for the replies! The ignition switch sounds like it will be the answer to the first problem. For the second one, I forgot to post this, but both the driver side and passenger side door locks work to unlock the vehicle, but neither work to lock the vehicle. They both went as soon as the car started popping the trunk.

Parking lights come on when shifting into park... maybe trunk is wired through those or something?
