if they're not auto leveling with projectors then they're not well done period.
I've been using DDM HIDs (Hi/Lo 5000k, 35w) for a while now (over 6 months...) without any problems and still love them like the first day I got em:
For the stock 2003 housings, the Silverstar Ultras do not even come close to the same output compared to my DDM HIDs. The DDM tuning HIDs are almost too bright, and they light up everything. Everyonce in a while I'll get flashed from people that think my brights are on. ....my buddy says they are too bright... I absolutely love them and will recommend them to anyone.
I have pics and more reviews around page 8ish on here. This link takes you straight to page 10 when I got my pics uploaded http://www.grandprixforums.net/ultim...d-10-2415.html
good luck!
03GTPLE, after reading the entire HID thread you linked to, it seems like everyone is getting super confused between the 97-03 and the 03+s. i have an 02 and a will be getting some DDM's soon. Which ballast's did you get? and you were saying the hi/low function doesn't work very well at all? They say a 9007 bulb uses axial filaments meaning the high and low filaments are above and below one another, which sounds like the telescoping HID bulb that DDM sells should work perfectly, right? anyway, let me know. Also, did u get HID fogs too? and also from DDM? You also got the harness, would you recommend it?
Let me see if I can answer these for you:

Which ballast's did you get? I got the DDM HID Kit Slim Ballast (35W), it's the black ones (if you're looking at the silver or black ones). They can be found here: HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning

The bulb does telescope to change between high and low. However, not enough; at least for the stock headlights. I don't know what's going on here, but when I switch between the high and low beam, I can notice a change, but the beam pattern gets worse. Thankfully, the lights are brighter than high beams and I haven't had a need for brighter light. I've driven on very dark roads at night, and at highway speeds and that would be the time you need that, but the "low" is bright enough to keep me covered.
...yes, DDM said it was supposed to work... I just didn't want to mail bulbs and whatnot back and forth. Customer Service is good.
Also, did u get HID fogs too? and also from DDM? Nope, stock. My stock fog lights don't provide any extra light. They used to be brighter than the headlights, even brighter than the sylvania silverstar ultras... but now my HIDs over power them
You also got the harness, would you recommend it? I would recommend the harness. The big reason why I got the hi/lo combination was because that package comes with the harness, so the cost is the same.
Looks like they changed the website around a little bit; and they are out of stock on ballasts until the 20th, which is tomorrow. I had to wait three weeks before mine got in..........
As far as the error eliminator kit, that's up to you. With my kit, it leaves the passenger side OEM bulb unplugged because ther DDM harness only connects to one bulb connection. For some reason, my brights indicator on my dash and HUD is constantly on. It's dimmer when the brights are not actually on, but it's still there. It does not bother me, and I don't know if the error eliminator will fix it. I was planning on plugging in a stock bulb to see what would happen, but I just haven't tried it yet. ....so... that's up to you, and I really have no idea if the error eliminator kit will fix it.
...and you don't need the adaptor cable, just to cover the bases.
That being said, again, I'm very happy with them, and will move the kit from car to car
Let me know if you have any other questions.
With my kit, there is no need to buy the error eliminator. The DDM kit leaves the passenger side OEM bulb unplugged because ther DDM harness only connects to one bulb connection. For some reason, the brights indicator on my dash and HUD is constantly on. It's dimmer when the brights are not actually on, but it's still there.
I plugged in a stock bulb to see what would happen and it fixed the brights indicator on the HUD and dash. Since I have the 9004 bulb plugged into the stock harness, I now have an underhood light.
Here's what I'm talking about, you can see the HID plugged into the headlight housing, connected to the DDM HID wiring harness, then below that is the factory headlight harness and a 9007 regular bulb plugged into that. This is only on the driver's side because on the passenger side the factory harness plugs into the DDM HID harness. Again, I only plugged in the regular 9007 bulb into the harness to prevent the brights indicator to turn off on the dash and HUD. The HIDs worked perfectly without doing this. EDIT!!!! You don't need to do this. I crossed the wires at the 9007 to harness plug, which caused the error. The brights indicator operates normally and you don't need to have the light plugged in if you wire it correctly!

That bulb seems a bit silly, but i suppose it would work. Also, did you say when you by the high/low HID bulbs it comes with a harness so you don't need to buy one?
The Hi/Lo kit comes with the harness.
it seems that here are so many VVME HID loyal customers and ddm customers....
another vote to VVME HID cuz i already run vvme brand hid for 2 years...and stay away from ddm sucks customer service and crap shipping...
even so, my suggestion : check out the right HID kit from their website HID kit Xenon HID Conversion Lights LCD Projector Tattoo kit CCTV for sale then go to ebay of their store to order the same HID kit, usually, it is 5 bucks cheaper than their site....
vote here for DDM Tuning...
I've had no issues with my H.I.D.'s nor any problems with their customer service/shipping.
(which I have used their customer service because at first my HID's didn't work, The 04+'s are reverse polarity or whatever, just as simple of flipping the plug around )
nah, no defective kits....just missed alittle common sense on my part lol...
well goodluck with whoever you choose. I'll be doing business with DDM again.
It's all part of everyone's opinion.
Just went ahead and got a pair of 9007 high/lows 600k and also 880 6000k from DDM tuning. Hope it doesn't take to long to get them here. I plan on fixing the high low functionality so it works as correctly as possible. I am also going to disable the DRL's and add two LED light strings underneath the headlights and rig them up so that when the lights are off, the "DRL's (LED strips) will be on using a relay. Ill post picks and let you know how it all turns out. Thanks for all the help everyone.
with the hid harness do i run a separate switch for the hids or can i tap in to my fog light positive out put so i can still use my fog light switch or my 04 grand prix
ham4864 the wiring harness hooks up using the factory light switch.... no need to mess with it.
