Question : has anyone encountered radio interference with installing hids? Buddy of mine put them in a cobalt and now cannot listen to his radio when they are on, jus constant static.... Jw thanks

Re: HID's worth it? Hi/low/fog necessary? Good brands, with good prices?
Higher quality ballasts should be IR protected
I'm guessing the one your buddy put in his cobalt was of lower quality?

that still doesn't answer the question

Re: HID's worth it? Hi/low/fog necessary? Good brands, with good prices?

It probably has something to do with your ballast, which HID brand do u install? i run VVME 35W HID and dont have that kind of issue...Apparently some of the crap kits aren't FCC rated and do cause interference...
or u can try to put antenna to the back of car to avoid the interference ...

Re: HID's worth it? Hi/low/fog necessary? Good brands, with good prices?
Just got my hi/low headlights and fog, lights from ddm a few days ago. I love them. They are so much brighter and the hi/low function even works fairly well. Very happy with them so far. The install wasn't bad at all and the components seem like they are decent quality.

I really have enjoyed my DDM Fogs and Headlamps thus far. The beam pattern isnt even that bad with the high beams.

BTW, dude... where did you mount the ballasts ????
someone mounted their ballasts on the wiper fluid resevoir and the fuse box.
They get warm, but certainly shouldn't be getting super hot. Most ballasts are mounted with zip ties or double stick tape... if it doesn't melt those, it sure as hell shouldn't melt a wiper fluid resivoir or fuse box. If yours are getting hot enough to melt plastic, you've got a problem.

There was a small place I mounted them to the chasis or some sheet metal down in there on the Mazda 6. That was fun. lol I never said anything about having heat issues =P
Just put in some 6K's on my wifes 98 cutlass...lol I feel pro, did an excellent job hiding the wires BTW!!! :th_nanana:
so far i've installed 3 sets in 3 differnt cars w/ harness. I have 1 kit left and it is for my fogs on the GP.
Also, as it stands still no issues with DDM. :th_thumbsup-wink:

windycityGTP, you have the same headlights i have except mine arent HID, Can i HID them and if so who do you suggest i go with?

Re: HID's worth it? Hi/low/fog necessary? Good brands, with good prices?
before you go with HID lights, firstly make sure which HID type fits to you car model considering the issue of compatibility, flickering or error code..
if you wanna go with HIDs on your budget, you can go to that kind of aftermarket HIDs with good quality and strong warranty service...HID kit Xenon HID Conversion Lights LCD Projector Tattoo kit CCTV for sale
or go to ebay off it...but be careful of some crap shoddy stuff there.
without doubt, OEM HIDs is better idea if you'd likt to afford 200 or 300 bucks for that...
