Im planning on running a 4 channel amp to the rear and front, but not sure if i should just leave the 4 inch speakers installed and not powered, or remove them? I have read something about it creating a bandpass like enclosure, but am still not sure if that would be a good thing or bad thing.

are you upgrading the other speakers? or just powering the stock ones? and are you running subs? If you have subs in the trunk, and you are not "using" the 4" speakers take them out, it will sound good for the subs. the same as if you open the center pass thru in your seat

If you have sub's in a gp, you NEED to open up the pass-thru or it sounds like s**t aah take them out and just keep your 6x9's works fine for me.

Thanks for the help guys. I replaced all the stock speakers with infinites, so i will just remove the 4" ones and try to sell them. Be kinda pointless to buy another amp just to power them. Im also running 1 rockford fosgate p3 in a qlogic type 2 sealed box at 500rms @ 2 ohms but sounds kinda weak, probably because of my cheap kenwood amp that i had to fix a few times, but hey, it was FREE

subs in the doors can be great, but we already have heavy doors, that want to fall off without the extra wieght.

10 Lbs plus the box... which will easily be 10-20 lbs.

That'll make for some nice solid doors.

    Like the old days
Skip the box, Use some fiberglass. Easy to "fit the space" and less lb's
