Vids dont lie and I will say that is a kick ass score from 2 10's. However seeing what you are "Actually" running its far different that what I was expecting. I dont care for kicker equipement but cant deny that amp what is the power rating on the birth sheet? Good call on the to all the non believers ill take thats as direct hit. I was expecting a smaller amp when all the talk about 700 watts was going around. Oh and what sanction are you competing in? Youd never compete in the same class with my old set up being open seat like that. My 149 was with the rear seats IN and the 38hz sloted port through the arm rest making it legal to compete in street class B. Would have been A but I had to much power. Can you supply 24V to your amp and still be in that class? I had the 2 batteries that would supply 24v to the amp only when the remote wire from the deck turned on so the rest of the system would only have 14.4 max charge. Anyways very nice score.
Sanction would be Db Drag Racing (DBDRA) (Termpro, db drag racing, spl meter, spl car audio, loudspeaker systems, wayne harris) I am in street C since I have 2 batteries.. if I got rid of the rear battery I would be in Street B. The rear seats are in the car, folded down, and the passenger seat folds down like that stock, therefore it's legal. Rules have really changed in the past few years. Nothing is rated off of wattage anymore because of all the bogus claims (Legacy 1600 watt up against a Kicker 1500.1 .. cmon now.)
I only claim 700 watts because that is what we clamped it at with a set of Flukes, AxV=W in theory.. and the only reason it would be seeing that little of wattage is because of my impedance rise.. This amp has been modified to crank out some serious power when I drop the impedance, don't fret.. at Finals this year, I will be dropping it to .25 ohm, (1 ohm after rise, theoretically..) Amp didn't have a birth sheet, but came from Team Thee Michael Hughes, where they had it modified by DB-R
And don't worry, you weren't the only 'non believer'...
You definatly deserve the credit thats due here. Its nice to see that some people actually know how to set up a system and push the limits of the sanction rules to hit that 146dB. Very impressive score. I know a thing or 2 about electronics and work full time for the military in an electronics shop. Id love to see what your # will be when the ohm load is dropped. About the class and rules, only reason I was in street B is because of the power I had and I was all under the window line so I didnt have to compete in unlimited with the wall setups. Its about time they fixed the power rating issues. I always said how hard would it be for them to actually check each car with a fluke before the burp so no ones cheating. Actually the reason I stopped the 1st place. After I got smoked by a dodge daytona with 2 MTX 9500s and the old school massive hot rodded JBL amps I said **** it. That guy should have been in unlimited because it was a hatchback but technically the subs were below window level. If you ask me thats cheating vs. a car with a full trunk and the rear seats in like I had. Good to hear the rules have changed. And good luck with the rest of the season your sure to nail a few upsets bythe clowns that "think" they know what their doing.
I only compare myself to other trunk cars. Going in the lanes against a CRX or something of the like pretty much guarantees an instant loss. But it's still fun.
no kidding trying to compete with an open vehicle like a hatchback of suv is retarded. Id say your pushing it with the seats folded down. Im suprised they dont make you compete with walled setup since the entire face of the box is open to the cabin.
I'm not pushing it... it's not considered a wall unless it's above the window line. People that are 'pushing it' are the ones we need to do the 'string test' on.. where we take a piece of string, put it at bottom ends of opposite windows, and pull it tight. If the box touches the string, they are in Super Street class (walls)
My car no longer hits anything.. system has been taken out, and the Prix is being traded in this weekend.
getting a hatch car?
Matt - I have a CRX already... it's just sitting in a barn waiting for the end of the year to come (Finals)
TurboTrav - my GTP has been nothing but a hand full of problems since I bought it.. and last time I changed the trans fluid, there were CHUNKS of metal in the pan.. so I gave up. Traded it in, they gave me what I owed on it, and let it be someone elses problem.. Got a '04 F150 FX4 SuperCrew 4x4.. I'll figure out how to put a system in there tho.. Talked with the wife about a wall, or else doing a blow-thru.. but both ideas were shot down immediately... lol
i'm not a fan of blow thru's
Awesome
I need to know which design works the best in an 02 coupe for a box.... Ive been thinking about it for over a month now..... I know I'm getting 2 AQ HDC3s Have everything else except for the subs and box electrical is all upgraded

Sure keep it going, its interesting to see what other people have going on.
My buddy had some old stuff laying around that i took off his hands. I managed to cram 2 15" l7's in it, with an alpine m-2000. Boy does it hit, but my alternator hates it's life... I've got 2 10w7's that im getting once i go back to work though.
