Probably not a good enough ground. If its not bridged, prolly a weak ground. ZX750 = needs a good ground!
alright thanks ill have to try a better ground
alright ill check all of this tomorrow
Or the amps toast GOOD LUCK BUDDDDDDDDDDDDDYYYYYY
If all checks out ok, and the amp is still clipping try beefing up the body ground at the battery by putting a 4 gauge cable between the negative post on the battery and the body of the car. this is very commonly overlooked
ok well i got a better ground but it still blinks on low notes and it doesn't seem as loud as it should be. any ideas as y?
With that kind of power you need to upgrade the ground under the hood and the alternator power wire. Or commonly known as "the big 3".
what do i need to do to upgrade it?
I did the actual "big 3" so an alternator to fuse relay, battery ground and a motor to chassis ground. Sorry for the dirty mess, and no i didn't have a ring terminal on the motor to ground wire.
even if you used a section of the existing wire but routed it the shorter route it'd be much better than stock. Also free![]()
and that helps alot?
Oh yes, big time! The stock wiring is 8 gauge if im not wrong. 8 gauge is good for about 60 amps so and your alternator puts out over 100. I had some serious dimming issues before and now i have little if none.
Its the fact that the 8 gauge cable is 10 feet long.
If the 8 gauge cable was say a foot and a half, this wouldn't be an issue with our cars.
alright ill have to do that then
ahh, the big 3. way to go
