    My wife has a 06 gp and the display on the radio is out so I want to buy her a new radio for christmas can anyone tell me what aftermarket head unit will work with the steering wheel controls

    none will. you'll have to buy steering wheel interface if you want to keep your steering wheel controls with a aftermarket HU. I have a 6-disc monsoon in mint condiction at home but I still have like 3 months left here in Iraq.

    Yeah, you need to buy an adapter. I did, and (perchane my steering wheel buttons weren't so messed up) it helps.

    I replaced my head unit with an aftermarket this summer in my 03 it really isnt that hard to install an adapter for the steering wheel controls. if you find a aftermarket hu post what you found im sure one of us can help you get exactly what you would need b4 you do any buying. (I had to replace mine because my cd player would no longer eject cds. lets just say i was pissed)

    Please note you will lose your hud info from the radio (if your car has hud)

    Not like it ever told you anything more than track number or station, most people get a HU to have some extra features like MP3 compatibility...

    ok so I decided on a HU and from what it looks like I will not need the module for the steering wheels controls unless I am mis reading here is the link to the unit

    No no, that just means that is works with a module. Not all radios do. This one does.
