do you know how i should wire the sub up to have it work right then?
    Yes. If possible....

I missed this post of yours:

" it a new amp just got it today. i did turn it down but then i cant hear the sub.and a guy i work with told me about the amp cause he has the same sub as i do (i sold the sub to him) and the amp works fine with his."

If you are SURE the subs are exactly the same, and you bought the same model Pioneer as he did, something is broken.

Hook up the sub to one side of the amp, run it hard for a few minutes, then try the other side. That will test the amp and the sub, and verify that nothing is broken, and that you have a 2 ohm SVC sub.

Is there 2 sets of posts on the sub? red black and on the other side red black? If so it's Dual Voice Coil......

Power Handling: This woofer has a total RMS power rating of 300 watts and a total peak power rating of 1000 watts. Each voice coil carries an RMS power rating of 150 watts and a peak power rating of 500 watts.

Perfect. A good match for the Pioneer amp. Set the input gains on the amp at at 75-80%, and simply run each coil to one side of the amp. Don't use bridge mode.

    channel 1 + --------- redpost 1
    channel 1 - ---------- blackpost 1

    channel 2 + --------- redpost 2
    channel 2 - --------- blackpost 2

2hm loads that fully utilize the Power of the amp, and the amp has a little bit more power than the subs should really take, so keep the gains down about 25% and guarantee clean output, and safe subs. I'd put the back of the Box against the backseat inside the trunk either pointing up or towards the rear. Should bounce nicely for only having 1 sub. The amp will probably run almost too hot to touch after a good cruise, but should never shut down, if setup up as above. If that setup gives you any problems .... buy new stuff

I'm thinking that ur amp wire isn't a big enough gauge to take the consuption of the amp. And plus you could do what i've done.. run ur wire from ur battery back to a compasitor. Remember every 1000 watts is equal to 1 fared. Example 2500 watts = 2.5 fared. With this you will never have amp shutoff or dimming of interior or exterior lights.
