My friend has stock radio with stock speakers, and he has an amp in the back with two sony xplod subs. The person who wired his system tapped directly off the rear speakers and straight to the amp without any line out converter. When the volume low, his subs would go in and out slowly, not making any noise, but really stretching and contracting. Pretty much it does it when it's not playing anything.
I figured a line out converter would fix this, since i'm pretty sure he would need one to convert the signal coming from the factory radio to one suitable for the amp.
So I told him to buy this one.

He got it, and I installed it. RCA's going to the amps, and the two inputs are coming from the rear speakers.
Now the problem is now when both subs are playing they are distorted and any level, the bass just doesn't hit at all, they sound like garbage. If I unplug one of the RCA's and let only one speaker play, it hits very hard and plays fine. The problem starts when both speakers are hooked up.
To prove that I even turned the gain down on one channel and put the other one up and it work fine. But as soon as I put the gain back up in the first channel they both start distorting badly again.
Anyone know what the problem could possible be? BTW we used some cheap composite cable to hook it up since he didn't have any. I just peeled the yellow wire out and used the red and white.
I really don't know what wrong and why it's doing this...i'm almost 99% sure I hooked them up correctly, it's obviously not hard to hook up.
