Ok guys, here is my setup so far...
-XRP -6 AN Tube Nut + Sleeve (x1)
-XRP -5 AN Tube Nut + Sleeve (x1)
-XRP -6 AN Male to -6 AN Male Union (x1)
-XRP -6 AN Male to -5 AN Male Union (x1)
-XRP -6 AN straight female hose ends to connect the tube under the car (X2)
-XRP -6 AN straight female hose end to connect the lines to my PRJ fuel rails (x1)
-XRP -6 AN Angle 90 Degrees female hose end to connect the lines to my PRJ fuel rails (x1)
-XRP -6 AN Steel braided hosing of course
I installed everything. The hoses went together smoothly, everything bolted to the rails nicely and all. What ain't working is my connections on the factory hard lines under the car. I bought all the above at a local speed shop and got good instructions on how to setup everything. When I put the sleeve and the nut together on the hard line (after cutting it obviously), I flared it with a flaring tool. When I assembled everything I had leaks at the hardline connection! I tried flaring some more, even sanding smooth the bevel and I had leaks on one line constantly. I cut off the flare and tried again, it held. I drove the car a little that night, I got back home and the other line is leaking! There tighter than hell too. I'm thinking these connections ain't worth a damn IMO. I think part of the problem is both tubes on the inside have a seam line and I think the leaks are coming from there. Esentally I can't get a good seal. I don't like it so its time to do something different than this.
What can I use different? I've heard of Swedgelok setup. How can I adapt this to my setup and where can I buy the parts at? I'd appreciate the help. I know the 5/16 side will be a pain to adapt.
I only get one weekend a month off and I wanted to get this littlep project done, thats all. So much for that idea. i'm so pissed on how this turned out. Kinda wishing I stayed with the OEM setup now... Ugh
