Well, I sorted out the mechanical bits, now it's time to get rid of that factory radio. I already put in a new head unit but the factory speakers stink.

I happen to have an amp (100x4 RF) which I want to use but I have to get power to it. Searching in the forum apparently the 2004+ had a grommet that could be used to pass cables through. Mine's a 1997, and a different body style. Is there something similar for the sixth gen GTPs?

Already ordered a component speaker set for the front.

If you search on my name you'll likely find the spot to use. Pull back the passenger carpet under the dash, there's a square/rectangle rubber boot that all the main wiring goes through. Comes out on the firewall across from the power steering pump. It can be a pain to send the wire through if you are trying to keep it in the boot proper but it can be done. I did a 4 gauge.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

it helps to use a stiff wire (unbend a wire coat hangar) and push through then tape the wire and pull through the grommet

I managed to stuff a 0 gauge wire through that grommet, making size modifications so the rubber block grommet still fits in the factory spot.
