In installed the soungate locx and now I have a few problems.

Now the gains are all messed up. The sub will cut out when turned to loud. Obviously this sounds like a gain issue. When I turn down the gain it obviously does not hit as hard, but it still cuts out.

This mostly happens when the HU is turned near max. It will even cut out on songs that have little to no bass. It NEVER did this with the high pass. The sub hit very hard without hessitation with the high pass running through one channel.

I have tried messing with the gains for over two hours. Not luck. Right now it does hit but not nearly at its full potential.

What do you think I should do? The connections are soldered to the left and right stock sub connections.

Im in a pickle and I am considering going back to the high pass. Thanks for the help!

Get an aftermarket head unit. Those LOCX things are junk and are only rated for 85w per channel. It's proably overheating and malfunctioning

Defiantly an amp overheating problem! Your amp is over working to push your speakers and has a safety feature to make sure you don't blow your amp. continuing to run it like this will break your amp. Either get a bigger amp or don't turn it up so loud.
