Thread: 07 GXP or 06 GXP?

Hey, I am a new member here cause I am about to get a GP GXP. I can get a 07 GXP but the 06 GXP's are cheaper. Does anyone know inparticular anything that is different from the two? I know that the newer modles (meaning the car was released sooner, not actually newer) can be more prone to problems. I would like to get the 07 but I think I may be getting the 06 cause the price is a little lighter. Any comments?

Besides seeing all the vids of you hammering it on YouTube, and then I saw where you commented that you went 7k miles without changing the oil.... lol

Okay. Yeah I heard something too about stuff like that. But it is understandable that anytime a new car is released there will be kinks to work out in the years to come...Like I know someone who bought a 2010 Mustang GT instead of a new 2011 5.0. It was cause the 2010 was nicer, and he did'nt want a 5.0 till they had been out a while. They where about the same price... But ultimately it will be the deal I find on one.

Despite what ppl may think, those videos on youtube are about the only time I hammer on it(occasionally when im feeling froggy) I really take care of it as far as that goes which is why I get almost 20 mpg in the city, and that time with the oil change was really at about 6200 miles and its the only time ive let it go that far, all the other time were at around 4k miles. Yeah. I suppose I would be looking at the same thing with any GXP I got...They have a tempting V8, people will hammer them occasionally. But brakes for the GXP are expensive I hear, and tires are expensive to me..
I need to sell my car first, so I still have time to look around and study more.
Why do you want to sell your car?

Buy a GTP or Comp G, The v-8 is a waste of time and money IMO. They only have a few mods, and theyre expensive to maintain. The L32's are relatively cheap to mod and get GREAT gas mileage. But this is just my $.02

I really really like those cars, but I need to find a car that is a little rewer so I will have an easier time getting financed at the monthly payments I want.
I will not be doing many mods. K&N Maybe exhaust...So modding isnt very important. I like the GXP cause its decently fast for a decent price. One that is up my all.

There are pros and cons to both, the v8 has gobs more torque and sound but is more expensive to mod extensively. If you dont plan on modding they are a considerable amount more quick than a GTP and as far as gas mileage, I get better than most GTP's.

There is no doubt that I want one of these cars. I just need to sell my car and get one. I wont be modding much, I really like the car stock.
Ill get the K&N too. Seems like its the key to gas milage in the GXP
