The car just needs some basic maintence on it like brakes and maybe rotors soon and 60k mile service.

Yeah. I suppose I would be looking at the same thing with any GXP I got...They have a tempting V8, people will hammer them occasionally. But brakes for the GXP are expensive I hear, and tires are expensive to me..
I need to sell my car first, so I still have time to look around and study more.
Why do you want to sell your car?

Buy a GTP or Comp G, The v-8 is a waste of time and money IMO. They only have a few mods, and theyre expensive to maintain. The L32's are relatively cheap to mod and get GREAT gas mileage. But this is just my $.02

There are pros and cons to both, the v8 has gobs more torque and sound but is more expensive to mod extensively. If you dont plan on modding they are a considerable amount more quick than a GTP and as far as gas mileage, I get better than most GTP's.

There is no doubt that I want one of these cars. I just need to sell my car and get one. I wont be modding much, I really like the car stock.
Ill get the K&N too. Seems like its the key to gas milage in the GXP

I have never heard of any differences between the transmissions 06-07. They didn't change anything in the drivetrain besides replacing the expensive Alcoa aluminum forged wheels with cheap Koran knockoffs. These cars all have problems holding their transmissions, not just the '05-'06's. Right now I have a problem with the shift pressure solenoid, but that's been going on for over a year now. The car is solid and a performer, it is expensive to maintain but so is every other car on the market with high performance parts. The '05's had 4 way adjustable lumbar support in their seats and the '06+ come with only two way. There's something the '05 lacks that the '06 picked up but it's escaping me at the moment.

If you can find an early 07 for relatively the same price, buy that instead of the 06.

Early 07 (thru a certain VIN #) still came with the Forged Alcoas. Late 07 (after a certain VIN #) came with the knockoffs. The 07 also has the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty while the 06 does not.

If you have no intentions of modding the car, the GXP is the way to go. I had/have no intentions of modding a car, so the GXP is the perfect choice for me to drive to work and pick up my kids from school (when compared to a GT or GTP).

    Okay, thanks for the imput.

I agree, the car is an awesome looking car while still offering decent performance, which fits me perfectly.

Don't get me wrong though, when I say I don't intend to mod, I mean seriosly modding. I don't plan on investing in a turbocharger, and heavy mods like that. But I will do a KN air intake, and maybe some exhaust and other bolt ons like that. Nothing heavy though, basically. And if I don't do any mods at all, I will still be more than happy with the car stock.

I also don't plan on hot-roding it all the time either. I like the idea of having the power when I need it, like passing on the highway ect.
But that does'nt mean I'll keep my racing virginity .

Thanks for the imput. I have decided that year of the car itself wont matter to me. I will be happy with an 06, 07, and I may be able to find an 08.
Thats really what I am looking into, a good performer (decent).
I mean, I drive a stock Pontiac G6 right now with the 3.5L VVT with 219 at the motor. So 303 will be more than an upgrade for me. I was originally going to mod my G6, but even if I did do some neat mods I still wouldnt be near where the GXP is stock....
I heard that the GP's are very front heavy, but I drove one for the first time the other day and I was astonished at how the car handled. I have ridden in many, many sports cars. Corvettes, mustang cobras, all kinds of foreign cars also and I honestly thought the handling of the GP was equal if not suppier to them. The person who told me that had never driven a GP GXP, just the GP base sedan.

Do any of you guys have any ideas on how to sell my car faster? Goodness, I can not believe it has'nt sold yet. I am asking a very reasonable price for it with decent miles on it. I have it on Autotrader.com, Craigslist OKC, Craigslist Texhoma, and I have parked it in places where it gets good exposer. Still nothing....
I have some custom decals put on the side of it however. They are not very flashy by any means, but possibly this is interfering with buyers seriously considering my car?

I don't know what else to do, cause a trade in is not a good option at this point. Any ideas? Thanks

I really really like those cars, but I need to find a car that is a little rewer so I will have an easier time getting financed at the monthly payments I want.
I will not be doing many mods. K&N Maybe exhaust...So modding isnt very important. I like the GXP cause its decently fast for a decent price. One that is up my all.

Just tired of the note really, it also needs tires and a alignment lol.

The note really should'nt be that bad though, for me. I am going to do a 60 month note.
I can do a shorter one, but I dont want to cough up the extra dough right now every month. (My first time buying a car).

The one I sold I put two new control arms, two struts/shocks, 4 new tires (hard size to come by), and did an alignment on it. Probably just those things cost me about $1,000 if not more.
