I can't really seem to find mention of this on any forum, but has anyone ever had their crossover pipe start leaking? I just bought another 2005 Grand Prix GTP (bone stock) after being out of the game for a long time and this is one of the only problems I've noticed with it. At idle, I can hear a puttering (that sounds like an exhaust leak) coming from where the front manifold meets the crossover to possibly the middle of the the crossover. I occasionally get a strong waft of exhaust with my nose around there, and I've also noticed the underside of the intake accordion tube is covered with black soot. There are even a few black streaks of soot on the heatshield for the crossover in random spots. I've tried plugging the tailpipes and it doesn't change noise level noticeably, I've also tried listening when the motor is being power braked and the noise doesn't really change that much.

Is it pretty much 100% for sure the crossover? Should I order new one? If so, what gaskets do I need to go along with it?

Thanks for any help...I'm glad to have another Pontiac again.

Also if you are spending $140 on a crossover( Rockauto https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/mor...nid=484&jpid=0 ) I would go ahead and just go with headers. you can pick up this full set for 200 http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAINLESS-SS...8dc2e4&vxp=mtr
