It's a 8rib balancer, it provides better balance for the crank at higher rpms...it also helps control timing via crank shafts position sensor, so by putting it on clocked wrong, timing was off and didn't know it so kept trying to start it for about an hour trying different things, finally to much unburned gas got in exhaust I guess and a spark lit it up..only mufflers toast the car is fine..lol..new exhaust already on car.

At least you have a guess. Best I can think is he some how spun his blower backwards which creates a huge vacuum in the mufflers, which imploded then exploded not unlike a mini Nova...

its a aftermarket balancer, with two key way slots. he used the wrong slot and that made the timing way off, dumps raw gas in the exhaust, and when the spark fires it back fires and the gas in the mufflers lights up and blows them out like that.

and its loud as hell when it pops like that.

Using the wrong slot has the same effect on a woman, as well.

Speaking of buttholes, I can't seem to unclench mine. Been watching The Isle of Man on Velocity. How those guys fit their oversized nuts in those racing suits I'll never know...
