I have a 1997 gtp with a bit over 180,000. I noticed my tach would just drop to 0 while driving and the engine would miss a bit. After reading a bit It looked like the crank position sensor. I replaced it wed. I didn't drive much at all Thursday but today (friday) it's still doing the same. The tach stops responding and I'm getting some misfires here and there. The tach stays down till I shut off and restart but then it usually drops again while driving. Anyone have this issue... what should I look at next

Did you use a AC delco replacement part??

If not, I would only use ac delco.

Otherwise inspect the entire harness going to the crank and cam sensor.

If it was an autozone sensor, that would be suspect #1 if I were troubleshooting. Delco or delphi only for that part.

I've used Borg Warner with no ill effects. You might want to make sure that the harness is routed correctly, and there are no exposed wires. They can get on the crank pulley and burn through easily.

Also....get a crank sensor relearn done.

Thanks guys. It was an advanced auto part. I'll try the ac Delco and the wires
