Putting my double roller on. Does the crank gear need to be hit onto the crank? The stock one slid off with my hand. The DR crank sproket seems like it barley fits and needs to be hit on with a big socket. Also, I line up the 0 marks on the gear as well so the 0 is facing up and the dot on the cam gear is facing down and lining up with the 0 correct? My crank gear was also machined to match the stock one.

    Thanks.

I took some emery cloth to the crank and inside of the sprocket, cleaned it off, put a light coat of oil on and it went on easier. Crank sprocket came off pretty easy when I was removing the dr, but the cam sprocket was a real mf'er coming off. If I were making the mistake of using a dr again, I'd probably take some emery to the inside of that sprocket, too.

Why do you refer to using a DR as a mistake?

I'm sure you've read about the issues double rollers have with our cars. If I need to run 2 front cover gaskets, use a milled oil pump cover, and/or have the crank gear machined just to be able to use it as advertised, something isn't right. I have a new stock chain/dampener now, and feel a lot more comfortable than I did with the JP in there. If I were running something bigger than the XP, then I'd probably look into something stronger, but it's not necessary for my setup.
