just dont touch the bottom end, stop after the heads are removed. Leave the crank, pistons, rods and everything that keeps them in alone dont even look at them

I've always been told if you shift the mains around, it'd create a 500~ mile wonder without having everything machined and aligned.

    Maybe so, maybe not.

Regardless, just get a junkyard block and toss it in.

if you can only find a n/a motor your only using its block. you need supercharged heads. if you find a good sc engine leave the heads on unless you plan on porting them or some thing.

you can always do a compression test in the junk yard engine before you buy it, and most yards give you a warranty. yes your doing the job again but the engine will be replaced for free. part of the gamble.

Update on my car. I just pulled motor out today and pulled oil pan, checked the #6 rod that I took loose when checking motor. The bearings were fine. Started removing 1 by 1 and found #1 rod bearing to be the cause. I have ordered a used engine with 156k miles that I'm gonna put in and drive. While building my original engine. Gonna put diamond pistons,h beam rods, ARP bolts in the entire engine. Intense stage 3 cam and heads, smaller pulley intercooler, and new trans to hold power. Will be about 2 years in the making but I want 450-500 whp
99gtp 3.4"on ported m90, zzp 1.0 pcm, speeddaddy headers, stock mufflers w/cat and res delete,104's,FWI,180* stat, exhaust ported heads,Dog bones flipped, 18" 350z wheels

gonna have to give up on the M90 if you want that kind of power.

    and 3k in machine work.

Be alot easier to tear the "new" motor comming in, rip it to a short block and build it up from there, 70% cheaper to

my guess is 500+ most turbos are on stock bottom ends.

back when the TTGT was in the 9's i believe it was still on a stock bottom end and it made well over 600 at that point.

So its not really beneficial to build the bottom end? I would like to make it bullet proof so this don't happen again

its not worth the shop expense, if you blow it up you find another 400 dollar used engine.
