you ask how much to do the install, and worry about mpg efficiency too? Maybe you haven't really considered all factors, but there's only one that matters! You gotta PAY if you wanna PLAY. You're asking the wrong question, and that is how to do it RIGHT! : )

    Also, consider this:

    Cheap/Fast/Reliable

you can only have two of those three at any time, so chose wisely!

I've had all my cam build parts just sitting here and waiting for the time (off from work) to jump in and do it. I say go big or go home, if you just want a Stage 1 cam, don't bother, just do rockers and be done with it. You'll keep your mpg efficiency (somewhat) while gaining a little headroom at upper rpm. Don't forget, even with that mod, there's still incidental costs... Headers, tune, wideband, tranny that may come into play and you best plan well for it. : )

    Good Luck!

Just do it. Quit sweating the small stuff... Once you start it's like Legos , just greasy oily Legos....
S1x is a great cam. You will be very happy
no one ever did a cam install and said they would rather have the stock cam instead

Regasket everything and take your time.

As long as the motor has been taken care of, 200k~ ain't sh1t.

Be sure to go have the front cover cleaned out for any sort of build-up, I'd honestly get an '04+ spring kit for the oil filter housing too...helps bump oil pressure a bit...along with a new oil pump gear if you have the extra money lying around.

I have all the gaskets for a LIM gaskets replacement. What other parts and gaskets would I need to do a s1x cam install?
Besides 04+ spring kit and oil pump gear.

Would that be stock springs and lifters or something different?

I prefer 105s with a new stock chain and dampener
    you can do stock lifters
I chose to ditch the oil restricted rods I used when I had 1.9s and go with the oe-r lifters
Besides springs , its all preference but either way I'd replace everything while there with something new

I don't know....I just found out it wouldn't do any good. So, i'll forget that idea.

Plus, I don't have any custom head work done for anything more than 1.6
