I am about to convert my gtp to e85 but before i pull the trigger i have a few questions
I want to go with the 42.5# injectors since no tune is required.
whats the best place/brand to buy?
I want to drop to a 3.2 with p plog, downpipe and e85 are the 42s big enough?

How would e85 interact with a turbo build? I am assuming it works the same way and lets me run more boost

i have heard about cold start issues, at what temps does this become an issue? i live in the mid atlantic Coldest ive ever seen it was 0* F but it usually stays in the 30s sometimes 20s with rare dips into the teens here.

I know with the 42.5# you clip them in, and let the LT FT and ST FT sort it all out, how long does this take, how bad does the car run in the interim?

Up to you. I got my 60s and soon to get my 160#ers from ZZP.

I would worry more about the stock fuel pump than the injectors. They should be fine.

You are correct. Im turbo and on gas ran 8-10 psi, on E85 I run 16 and have more room. Just need bigger injectors.

Cold start can be a *****. Use Tiny Tuner (Soonish ATuner) to edit your bins cold start. Need to be able to tune here. Some people (me) report terrible issues starting in the cold (1 minute+ cranks) others report no issues.

I know with the 42.5# you clip them in, and let the LT FT and ST FT sort it all out, how long does this take, how bad does the car run in the interim?
It'll run fine in the interim, it'll start adjusting once the car goes into open loop (usually less than a minute or two)

EDIT: I Know you can run 42.5s on no tune with e85; however, I am still a firm believer in saying you want a tune. Though I have heard of zero harm running no tune. Just a personal preference.

thanks for the info, i plan to buy a copy of hp tuners, i just want to make sure my car will be ok while i scrape up the dough. When i (tried) camming my monte i dropped a bunch of cash for no result (damaged the engine becuase i forogot something in the engine under the LIM). Id really like to see some gains, become more motivated.

Yikes. Be careful. You better be scanning it while you do this. Watching KR, LTFT, STFT, and have a wideband. for the love of god have a wideband.

I have a scanner for it, and i only plan on dropping to a 3.4 before getting Hp tuners.
If its really something i have to do, ill suck it up, buy the Hptuners and a set of 60# injectors (since ill be able to tune them)
I just really want to feel a gain in the car

I will only comment on the questions I have direct experience with:

Where to buy? - I suggest used, if possible. Save a couple dollars, and help a member (money wise) with THE next part of their build.

How long do the fuel trims take to settle in? - The first 10 seconds, the car ran like poop. Then idled fine after that. Initially, the trims were all over the place, but I didn't have any driveability issues. It ran fine after the first start up. I've burned through about a half a tank so far, and it look like my trims have settled in where they're going to stay.

Cold start issues? - Haha! Not really an issue here!

Ideally, you would tune for the conversion, but this is a cheap hack ("hack" in a good way) way to run the corn. I will tune eventually,

Do i need to have a tuner to watch it or would a standard scanner be adequate?

    I have an aeroforce.

Before I started the car for the first time I set one line to watch STFT and the other to watch LTFT. Now that I'm comfortable with the results, I'm back to displaying a cyclic scan.

What will the wide band tell me? Is it just to make sure my AFR is straight?

A wideband and "in car" fuel pressure gauge are on my short list also...

I have a FP gauge on the rail, but I want to be able to see the FP while driving.

Make sure your AFR is around 14.7 at idle and 10.5-12 at WOT

20* F is when starting gets more difficult. That's usually when I switch back to regular fuel.

For quick gains, for cheap would i be better off doing this, or doing some exhaust mods and droping a few sizes?

Way better off with e85 and pulleys. You won't gain much from exhaust.
