I have never done struts. That being said, I was thinking about getting some rear quick struts. My limit is about $200

    What are my best options?

Basically, I'm sick of my car acting as if it has no get-up-and-go when even a 120 lb girl sits in my back seat.. And my rear end hitting on crap as I drive into driveways and such which happens far too often due to where I live.

Just looking for a nice set that will get my rear up a little, like back into the stock place.

I saw a set of rear quick struts, I think they were Moogs or something on a site once for like $79 each shipped. I was thinking about finding them again and going that route.

Also, I want something easy to install, and chances are I'll probably break something along the way so what does everyone think I'll break? =P

Also, my rear camber is tilted slightly in. Not sure though if the tower is rusted to the point where the struts cambered inward, or if it is due the the weak strut/spring causing it to tilt in a bit

go on ebay get your struts then watch some youtube vids on changing them. That what I did on my fronts. You will hear " o ebay" and recommend struts at $200 apiece. Unnecessary unless you are racing your car.

Fairly simple, the only thing possible to break might be your knuckes or if you get lucky and the splined bolts seized and you have to cut them.

I think intrigue springs were stiffer than gp springs (or they were taller) if you want to combat sag in a different way. But iv used Monroe quick struts in my car and my dads and can't complain but the ass of my car still sags because tools and subwoofers.

Check the strut tower see if its busting through, what year are ya?

Screw quick struts. Get a set of Kyb Excels or Gr2. A set of new mounts (Monroe) then swap over the dust boots etc. also now would be the time to throw in a set of quality lowering springs.

Sorry. 99. I know there is a hole or two around the tower, I was getting dirt in my trunk because of it so I may try fixing that a bit before putting the new struts in

I'd do what red said minus the lowering since you want to go higher. If not then go with the moogs. Struts are pretty simple especially the rears. Get some new sway bar endlinks while you're at it too. Google grand prix strut install and a really nice how-to on gpona will pop up. That's what i used and made life 10x easier.

    Seems pretty simple.

But how hard is it to buy the GR2's and swap everything else over?

As hard as buying a 6 pack renting a spring compressor and dedicating some time.

Hard to say. Some guys don't have a problem with them others replace them way before 200k.

Thats what I was considering buying.

My dad did the bounce test and determined the springs were wore out lol

He said since he pushed it abd bounced the rear a bit, it stopped bouncing after about 2 bounces which he said was fine for a strut? But the spring helps control height? Idk how accurate that is though lol

I'm just looking for something to help bring the back end up, not really looking to make it moar racekar btw =P
Found some intrigue strut and coil spring assembly for $65 each. Is that kinda what I would want?

I don't really have a lot of time to dedicate to this, looking for something I can do within like 3 hours work.
I work 2 jobs and attend college full time right now so pretty busy =o

I'd just buy the drop in struts and 2 new endlinks and be done with it. Not sure how long you plan on keeping the car but with 200K the drop ins might outlast the car.

Yeah, that was one of the main reasons I didn't wanna go all out on this thing. 200k miles on the body with a 170k ish motor ... I don't have very high expectations of this thing lasting me too many more years =P
