The Cam bearings are, together with the timing chain tensioner pretty much the only real weak point in these motors....
After fitting a aftermarket cam I wouldn't say its "likely" to spin a cam bearing, but fitting a new cam to bearings which have worn to the old cam does increase the risk of spinning a cam bearing. Usually its no. 3 bearing that goes.... because of the lower oil pressure towards the rear of the motor.
But just be careful putting the cam in, use good assembly lube and maybe even get the cam isotropically superfinished (thats what I did) and it will probably be alright![]()
