ok so here we go, I have beein having an issue with my 2003 gtp. The first problem that arose was a check engine light with 2 codes, po443 and po102. so the first thing i did was hop on the forum and do a little research and from what i found these two are on the same fused circuit and it referred me to check fuse #21 for the ignition, sure enough this fuse was blown.

So then i replace the fuse just as a "hey maybe this will work" and of course it immediatly blows and throws the same two codes back up so then i research some more and dig into the harnesses and right next to the MAF on the harness there is two broken wires nice to each other so i go ahead and fix the harness and think that things shouldbe cleared up now. just got back in from testing it out and the fuse has blown again....

Where do i go from here? Thanks for the help.

the broken wires. did you strip the insulation back till you saw new looking shinny clean copper? on both sides of the cut wire?

when i did my maf pig tail the wires were dull for inches, i was 3 inches from the main harness and bam, got clean wire.

if not you need to strip them back more.

or just replace the pig tail with a good junk yard one, or a new one.

oh the big one. how did you go about "fixing" the bad wires?

I cut out nearly all the way up to the connector and soldered in new wire and back up to where the maf meets the larger harness and just used butt connectors there but figured that for the fact in dorm parking lot. The wire i connected to was good wire though. should i tear further back into the harness?

Is there any other sensors that can cause this fuse to blow?

the rear o2 sensor is also on that fuse iirc.

butt connectors blow. ( i hate them) try to get them soldered up and shrink tubed. if the wire was clean and shiny it was ok. the wire on the plug side may have dry wire if that side was dirty looking.

My resonator started to rot and mice made a nice nest in there clogging it up. It got so hot it melted the wires to my O2 sensor which blew the fuse. When I was trouble shooting the wiring diagram for faults I noticed that part of the evap is also involved in those circuits

Thanks for the advice it turns out it was them upstream o2 sensor wire, it managed to all but touch the downpipe melting the wire coating inside of some high temp aircraft wire taping.
