I'm just trying to figure out what mods I will need to effectively run either a 3.4" or 3.2" pulley on my L32. Right now i've got a 3" downpipe w/ high-flow cat, 3" exhaust, 180* thermostat, 3.6" pulley, thrasher CAI, and a zzp pcm but I'm going to switch over to an overkill pcm soon. What else will I need before I can drop down to those pulleys?

the supporting mods for a 3.4 to a 3.2 are wayyyyy different. i will be lucky to run a 3.2 on my setup once i get a good tune down (as is without the e85 or meth).
at the moment, id think you could run a 3.4 with a little knock or a bad tune, take your pick. to run a 3.2 youd need headers at least, possibly rockers or a cam.
all cars are different, try it out but make sure to scan.

I'd say get headers...and tune tune tune. That might give you the ability to drop to a 3.4" but I would stay away from dropping pulley sizes. Get your headers. Then I'd opt for a ported blower/TB/LIM. THEN, I'd think about changing out for a 3.4". Hope this helps ya in your decisions.

what brand of headers would you recommend? how tough are they to install?

Headers...depends on your budget to be honest. I have the Pacesetters and they have their flaws, but I couldnt bear dropping near a grand on headers. SLP's/TOG's/ZZP Headers are nice and installs on the SLP's are awesome. Pacesetter install wasn't TOO bad, just be sure to take the extra time to seal em up nice and tight.
Plus the money you save buy getting a cheaper header means more money towards other mods

the front manifold is pretty easy and self explanitory. the rear is the one that is a pain in the ass. you need to pull the engine forward as far as possible and drop it in from the top. watch the trans lines below so you dont screw them up, too. the hardest part is the rear, if you can do that then youre well on your way to finishing them.

TOGs were cake to install IMO, even the rear. I'd say it was the easiest header install i've done honestly, did it by myself. The only PITA was the tranny dipstick adjustments, that sucked.

what about going with a powerlog and ported rear manifold instead?

Powerlog set-up is junk. Get headers. If your going to cheap out and not spend enough to get simple headers you don't need to bother modding your car.

just tought i'd ask since i've already got a downpipe. I was told downpipes for stock manifolds will not bolt up to headers.

Sell it and get some of your money back that you spent on the headers.

if you do keep stock manifolds or ported manifolds, your low end is going to be crazy compared to headers.

with the l32 your going to be running out of fuel with a 3.4. our injectors are two small. the only injectors that i know of that work for our cars are 03 04 cobra injectors. DEFF gonna want headers. the gen V superchargers are alot more flow efficent so your gonna be stacking up boost for sure.
there is someone here looking for a downpipe if you want to sell it.

oh. dident know they had those. they used to not to. yea those will be fine. and most people are in the 98% cycle duty with a 3.4 so i really would get those new ones.

so if i got a set of headers and 38# injectors I'd be okay to drop down to a 3.4" pulley with a tuned pcm of course. But if I also got a short stack intercooler from zzp would I be able to drop to a 3.2" with a tune?

i was looking into the SSIC and i wouldnt drop to the 3.2 unless you get a cam or at least rockers from what i was being told.
