Ok so about a week ago one of my buddies put on a intake on my maf sensor I have a lq4 from a 2000+ Cadillac deville then a day later I have code regarding a maf sensor issue along with a vacuum leak never had the issue before what gives now? Should I get a new maf? Put my fenderwell back on? Clean the maf or the air intake thanks guys!

Put a piece of tubing between the MAF and air filter, make sure things are tight and no gaps after the MAF sensor. Reset codes and see if anything comes back.

Ok guys im still getting the code p0102 after i cleared the code any ideas on what it can be? I replaced with a new air filter... cleaned lq4 maf what could it be? Do I really need a piece of tubing in between the maf and air filter to flow? I started getting the code after i installed a air filter on the maf

You cleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner and let it dry before putting it back in right?

take the MAF off while the cars off, put the filter back on the car. run it, listen to the idle, take it for a ride. how does it idle, how does it respond to load (be somewhat conservative with the load)? turn it off put the MAF back on, repeat your test run after clearing the code/ pending codes. Is the idle better or worse with or without the MAF? was your MGP better or worse with or without the MAF? if your mpg and idle was better without the MAF, get your CRC MAF cleaner and spray the sensors down point blank. the sensors should look clean and shiny like a new nickel. If your MAF is clean but the car runs better without the MAF (you'll definitely get a code for this) you may need to replace your MAF, youll also notice that no MAF may get you better MPG if this is the case.
