If you read my other post, my belt on my supercharger broke. And now that i have to get a new one and figure out what happened to the first one. I was thinking, when replacing my belt (and possibly pulley) can i get a different pulley and belt to increase my performance (i have a cold air and will probably get a programed pcm in the summer) or should i get the stock kind. And if i do get the aftermarket pulleys and belts what size should i get?

I wouldn't be messing with pulley sizes till you get some decent exhaust mods like headers.

the S/C pulley is probably the most cost effective mod to do, its also the most likely mod that will cost you an engine lol. do some other work first ( CAI,exhaust etc.) and then once you know where your at do the pulley

A stock belt will work with a 3.5 pulley. A good running gtp can and will run a 3.5 pulley fine with no KR or very little. Now if your cat's plugged, then you could run into problems.

I would personally throw on a stock belt and when your ready to mod, throw on a downpipe, 3.5 pulley and a tune/chip

I have to disagree with that. Lot's of people have 3.5" pulley setups that should in theory be able to run a 3.4" pulley no problem, but yet a lot of them still have KR problems. Hell I still have quite a bit of KR even with my setup, but that may have to do with it being winter and everything. Yes people used to be able to run 3.5" pulleys on near stock cars with little to no KR, but nowadays that is extremely uncommon.

So my point is if your car isn't a factory freak, then select pulley sizes conservatively.

If you want a pulley then get a 3.4/3.5 and put it on there. It's not going to blow your engine up dropping that small amount.

A 3.5 pulley won't damage your engine, unless their is a major fuel issue or excess back pressure from a cat issue. Even then, your PCM should be able to deal with it. A 3.5 pulley was used on the SLP GTX's and even the new newer 04+ gtp's boost more with the better/efficient gen V superchargers.

    You'll be fine on a 3.5 pulley.

But I doubt it would make the car any faster. When I put my 3.4" pulley on when I just had a powerlog instead of the headers my car actually felt slower on top than with my 3.8" pulley on 18* of timing. Sure my car felt stronger from a dig but that feeling disappeared once I hit 2nd and starting getting a ****load of KR. There is no sense in doing a mod if it's not going to make your car much if any faster, all while increasing the risk of eventually chipping a piston.

youre talking if youre tuning it and seeing what is best.

stock vs stock, if you slap a 3.5 or 3.4 on the blower it WILL be faster.

That's true, I forgot I've got the privilege of having a tuner lol.
