Re: VS cam project almost finished, a couple of questions
Check the fuel rail o rings to those cylinders
Re: VS cam project almost finished, a couple of questions
They were all replaced, or are you saying to see if they are pinched?

No make sure they are seated correctly

Something I learned when I did some work with an impala...I didn't seat the injectors correctly which did cause an issue....and lightly tapped the fuel rail with a rubber mallet. Made them seat easily without damage. Just couldn't get them to pop in properly any other way

Hmmm

Lol okay I get the point :P. I went and borrowed a rubber mallet from my neighbor. I've never done this before, is there something I am looking or listening for? Should I do it while the car is running? Should I pull the rails off and reseat them, then tap them in?
Re: VS cam project almost finished, a couple of questions
if you put the injectors in dry, no lube, take the rail off again, check them, then lube the o rings with oil and slide them back in.
Re: VS cam project almost finished, a couple of questions
^ I didn't lube them... Just regular motor oil?

Do it with the car off , fuel pressure in the rails if the car is on. You should be able to see the injectors sit correctly.

if they went in dry, take them off. i bet one rolled, or 2 or 3 of them.
i use any motor oil, like i pull my dip stick, wipe the stick on my fingers, then lube the o ring with my fingers.

Okay! I'll do this, reseat them, and return with results.

"Thats what she said!" :)
Re: VS cam project almost finished, a couple of questions
Finally took it for a drive, wow the power is awesome, I barely even got into boost!! I should have done this sooner!
I took the fuel rails off and lubed up the o-rings with some oil and seated them with the rubber hammer, but the misfire persists.. Now 6 misfires as well, but less often than 1. Absolutely no misfires under load that I can detect or feel.
Re: VS cam project almost finished, a couple of questions
Does it feel like it's misfiring though?
Re: VS cam project almost finished, a couple of questions
Woot woot!
Update!!! I know it's been a long time since this thread was active, but I finally mostly fixed the misfire at idle! Turned out to be a leaky EGR. LTFTs were +16.4 and are now -7 ish.
So the reason I revived this thread is because my LTFTs are -7 after the cam, headers, and 3.4" drop. Is this normal? It seems normal, the car is much smoother with slight misfire, but nowhere near as bad as it was.
