I haven't been posting on the forums much, mostly because I've been squirreling parts for a nice stock bottom end non-IC'd build. My goal is to get 360whp or more on 93 octane, no IC like I stated, stock bottom end. Everything else is fair game. So far the build will be...

    Gen V blower
post spraying duel nozzle devils own meth kit
    headers
    ZZP Cat-back
    NIC
    hogged out intake manifold
    Your typical N*/LQ4 setup
    ZZP 4inch boxed intake
    ZZP stage 4 heads
ZZP ignition wires and whatever heat range plugs the car won't foul, lol

I have faith in this setup, I've seen guys hit 350whp IC'd, but with lesser stage heads and no meth. So I'll see what happens when it all comes together. I should have pics of the parts up by tomorrow. As an FYI I have the NIC, headers and gen V with a 3.1 setup now. So I basically just need to put the heads and meth on.

What do you want me to explain? How meth is inconsistent? How its marginal octane boost can be easily gained consistantly in other ways? How it displaces the air charge? How it quenches spark/burn speed?

I wont say it doesnt "work" in other platforms, but its always for reasons that could be fixed with stuff like proper intercoolers, proper fuel, proper blower size, proper fuel system.... I wouldnt "build" a bandaid into a design stage of a project.

Also, its not "tricky to tune", because it really doesnt matter how "tuned' it is due to how random it is.

I think it will take alot longer to try and tune with meth instead of just running straight high octane pump gas like 93 or race gas.

getting the meth tuned in and tweaked perfectly is nearly impossible.

it's best used as a very light cover my ass sorta thing. mist in a M1 nozzle and leave it at that.

Interesting. Know the price on it?

Also, meth can be tricky to tune, but once it's dialed in I've seen people get great gains from it.

If you have an E85 station near you I'd highly suggest going that route.

There's only one in CT, and it's about an hour away. So it wouldn't be very cost effective for me.

I just don't see how spraying a higher octane fuel that has properly sized nozzles and a reliable pump can't be consistent or provide gains. I know a member locally that uses meth and gained about 23whp to make 356whp iirc on his gen v IC build. That member later on also told me he actually had a smaller nozzle in his pre-blower setup than he thought, so he put a bigger nozzle in it an was able to drop down a pulley size. So obviously he could have had a better dyno run with it. Most of the time, when people complain about meth, they had no idea how to properly utilize it. I know a guy with a vette, had meth and hated it. Took it off and made more power without it. Then my other buddy, who owns a stealth, sprays meth like a champ and is putting down close to 550awhp on a stock engine with modified stock turbos.

If you cant run a 2.8 pulley on race gas then you have problems. If you actually gain power going from a 2.8 to anything smaller on a gen5, you have a problem.

Do you have any data, or threads to back this up? I'd like to see them. Seriously.
