i just bought a 00 gtp. it already has a borla exhaust, i was hopeing for some suggestions to give it a little more thanks

well the first thing you can do is do searches, use the tool. We've had extensive threads on this. TDCracing just released a FWI you should consider.

whoa u have a borla?!?! good exhaust... id say add a 3 inch downpipe 2 the exhaust or headers... do all the starting stuff like a CAI or FWI, either a tuned PCM or just buy a tuner which is better. I would say do a 180 thermostat... colder plugs.
this is my daily driver. im not looking to make it into a race car. i just want a little more. what are some websites that i could look at for these parts? injector suggestions?

Id start with an intake, Cold air inductions is my recommendation but most people have experience on here with a Wizaired.
Second a PCM, you could either get a generic v1.0 or you could have one programed for you after you are "done" modding your car. If the latter then save this step for later.
Ported front manifold aka a plog. If you plan on modding further in the future get headers instead.
Get a larger downpipe, 3" is recommended for our vehicles. [again not needed of you get headers.]
Then you could also get a colder thermostat [180* only $10].
All the above is less then $600 assuming you go with the plog and Dp instead of the headers.
DNA has the right ideas... but a few things id like to add.
1. You can go a lot cheaper than the Wizaired. Make you own fenderwell intake (FWI)/cold air intake (CAI), for around $50 to $75.
2. Id recommend a PCM from either Intense or Overkill. ZZP has had some problems with their lately.
3.Ported front manifold is NOT a plog. yes they are similar but they are different. Ported manifolds are just as it says.... help a lil with KR and on top end (if any), where a Powerlog or plog is a welded manifold that has true diameter piping through-out and a better option than the ported manifold. Get headers and not worry about either one
4. Downpipe...people will argue about this till the cows come home. yes the 3in dp's are good if you have a 3inch exhaust from the downpipe and catback, otherwise you have a bottleneck as the larger amount of exhaust gas is forced into a smaller diameter piping(stock is 2.5in). Unless you make alot of power got with the 2.5 dp. IMO id go with a 2.5 dp just to make things flow better, but its up to you.
5. Thermostat....a 180* stat is a good choice, but id make sure that the PCM has it programmed in(most aftermarket ones already do),if its not the car will run a lil hotter while sitting in traffic. Since the stock stat is programmed @ 195*.
6. A colder set of spark plugs wil help with KR. Autolite 605's for stock gp's or 104's for lightly modded gp's.
All of this should run under $500 if you do all the labor yourself.

Yes true thanks for pointing that out, kind of like the difference between a ported throttle body and one of ZZPs high velocity tb's. Both for the same purpose but are different products. [and plog is better then ported front manifold]
And yea as i mentioned the headers would be the better choice if you have the time and money. Only two problems with that are price and instillation difficulty. If you have little mechanical experience they are a bit more difficult to put in then people think. This your DD and you don't need it being out of commission for a long time.
The plog and DP are two separate parts so therefore can both be installed at separate times.
Also if you plan on purchasing headers make sure you get a name/type that people have had experience with. Last thing you want is a set of headers that you have to fabricate for a while trying to get them not to leak. Hell i have even known pacesetters to cause a bit of problems with leaking and they are the most common headers on here.
A plog is a bolt in part (not too bad) you just have to remove to stock manifold off and bolt the plog in its place. Just becareful about the oil dipstick tube. Most people bend them and have to replace them, just remove it before removing the stock manifold, then put it back in after you install the plog. The dp can be a bolt-in unit or if you get a shorty dp it has to be welded in.
#1: Get an intake. Doesn't matter too much which one you choose. I prefer CAI's.
#2: Get a 180* stat
#2: Get headers. Many people will say to get a powerlog and a downpipe, but trust me just skip the bull**** and get headers. I went the whole powerlog/downpipe combo route and regret it.
#3: Get either a tuner or a PCM. I'd personally suggest a tuner since you can get a tune specifically for your car, instead of just a generic tune, and also cause a tuner also doubles as a scanner (which you'll need if you ever decide to drop pulley sizes).
#4: Once those things are done you can then consider dropping pulley sizes. Depending on how well your engine's running you should be able to drop to a 3.5" or 3.4" pulley, but you will never know until you scan and find out.
Those things should get you off to a good start.

Wish i had the cash to drop on a set of headers. Im with smokin.... if you can afford it, get headers.
That's exactly why I didn't buy headers in the first place, but then I found some used coated S&S headers for $250 shipped, which was about what I paid for the powerlog/downpipe setup I currently have. If you want some cheap decent headers consider getting some SS Autochrome ones, they're stainless steel and only like $350 shipped.
