It means something when you try and compare a cam that you can nearly reach peak lift #'s with 1.95 rollers...and he already has rockers last I checked. So if he is going to be running the rockers with the VS, I hope he knows he can't exceed .550~ peak lift on the stock valve guides.

Furthermore; You can run the same valve springs, the same retainers, and see more gains from an S1X, XP, or even a custom grind...more flow = more room for extra timing/leaner AFR/smaller pulley...which increases the gains even more over just the difference in the grind.

Not saying you can't do it on a VS but there are other options.

i like the VS cam for most mild builds. it's proven to make some power with the right combination of other parts.

Ok guys i looked online at Homedepot.com and found a store nearby that sold the M6 x 1.00 x ~75mm bolts. I went to autozone and got a few wide washers and doubled them on the ends. Should i thicken the washers up?

A cam install tool is great. Try to get a hold of a used cam bolt and weld it to a pipe or rod. Makes it go all so smooth.

Used the puller today and it worked marvelously. The install is coming along great. Ive gotten down the the cover removal but then it started raining so i will finish up tommorow. Cant wait to remove the cam and reinstall the VS. Ill keep you guys updated.

Oh and i used the vice grip trip on the flex plate to remove the Cam bolt and it worked. I used a breaker bar on the bolt along with my jack pole and me and a friend both used force at the same time and got it off no problem. I was actually surprised myself.

push a little by hand. wiggle it into the keyway BY HAND. then, and only then can you drive the crank bolt back in with your impact.

Cool. Thanks. I was worried the bolt or thread might strip.

Don't forget everything going back on needs to be torqued.

The Harmonic balancer bolt for example gets 150 Nm (111 ft. lbs.) .

LOL I torque the balancer with my impact. That's the only bolt I don't torque.

    This.

Or get a massive breaker bar and crank down on it as hard as you can.

We've hit that thing with hundreds of psi before and just reused the bolt with loctite.

    It's a 3800, hell we even re-used cam bolts.

    It doesn't care.

Man hard enough that it took me 4 days lol. I either didn't have all the necessary tunes and had to keep going to autone zone to get the correct sockets, hammer, coolant elbows, oil, filter, coolant etc lol. But foreal though it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. As long as you follow the install instructions word for word.....it can be done. Took 4 days because it was my first time digging below the LIM but ill get the hang of it as i do more installs in the future.
