I see two things here. That the gasket wasn't holding at the pcv and that was leaking oil across the gasket. It definately worked like a Bounty paper towel (at least if you believe the commercials). Looks to have seeped all the way around and the only place it was visible was at the snout, where the POS was the thinest.

Here we see that there is hardly any gasket under the snout based on the way it was cut. This likely led to some pressure pushing the oil outward in the snout area. My thoughts.. inferior gasket. Fel Pro MS95744
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

yeah, i got the felpro on there now. think i had boost/vac leak with that gasket too?

edit: car still seems to be doing this.. it will rev up like the AC is kicking on, but the rpm gauge doesnt really move much, like a load got put on the engine, during idle. the lights will dim down usually and slowly brighten back up. thought maybe i had a small vac leak, gasket change didnt fix this weird problem.

Thinking maybe a sticking IAC valve on my TB? all that was cleaned when i had the top end apart during the rebuild. it was quite dirty.
