The car is acting like it is coughing or hesitating while accelerating. I think it might be spark plug wiring but i do not no. What should my first more be...?

I just recently changed the spark plugs and gapped them correctly. There is one code and its for the Crankshaft position sensor(was just replaced)

if thats as high as the rpm's will go, id say clogged cat. drive it at night, then look under the car at the cat, if its glowing red, its clogged. and you need a new one.

no thats not as high as it goes but it acts like it lacking power or something...the exhaust is aftermarket so thats why it sounded alot louder then usual. I did have a problem recently that caused alot of black smoke. but thats a whole different story its fixed now..but do you think that could have clogged it?

if you still have the stock cat, it could be clogged, black smoke usually means your running pig rich, and yes that can help clog your cat.

easy way to check it is to drive it at night and look at it, if its red it shot.

or when its cold jack the car up and hit it hard with the palm of your hand, to see if you can hear anything rattling around inside it.

your looking in the wrong place, even a cat in good shape will be hot enough to take your skin off your hand. and you only have one cat, not two.

the cat is at the end of the down pipe right before the connection to the resonator. so its the first thing in line from the engine, thats the cat.

details, details. has the car been tuned? at all? or are you running a stock pcm still.

and if all this is after you did the top swap, you need to be tuned bad.

if you unplug the battery for 30 minutes the cel light should re set its self and turn off. if you have a problem it will come back on at some point. then have it re scanned.

help us all out a bit, and list your mods in your sig, that way we all know what you got all the time and have that info at hand to better help you out.

If the cps code comes back up just change it out. The light is on for a reason.

It has been tuned by ZZP
    3.25 pulley
    xp cam
    intake
    full exhaust and headers
    zzp 1.0pcm

I deleted the code and it came back on later that day....The crankshaft sensor is brand new, which made the car run better but not 100%m

i'd check out the crank sensor wiring if the code for the crank sensor keeps popping up.

you say full exhaust and headers, do you know if your dp is catted or not, have you checked the cat? and its not the 2 mufflers under the rear bumper, its the first thing off the engine.

Yes it ran just fine at one time with the same exact mods i have today...then the mass air flow went out due to SPECTRA Air filter. i got a new mass air flow and then my 02 sensor went bad. then i started getting black smoke due to the burning of to much fuel. I replaced the mass air flow and the o2 along with the wiring...both MAF fuses went out so i replaced them both and it ran much better. After that my CPS went out. it was hesitating real bad. I had zzp check the wiring and throw a used one in there which made it run even better. All there is left is that coughing when i accelerate. I noticed that the spark plugs we not gapped correctly so i took them all out and put brand new ones in gapped at .040. it did nothing...

used crank sensor? put a new one in. while your there, re check the wires, especially at the plug. if that code keeps coming up, id lean towards that sensor or wiring to it. and clean everything up real good behind the balancer too.

Clean throttblebody? New fuel filter in the past 30,000 miles? Checked for vacuum leaks? EGR stuck open?
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.
