So a buddy and I got ScanXL and a High Speed USB OBDII scanner, along with the GM Package. When I go pick up my GTP from the dealer we are going to get some base KR maps, then go home and change to a 180* thermostat and put an intake on. We are planning on posting the information; however, what would you guys rather see? Data maps or Graphs or both. If so, what do you want it to be compared to? KR vs RPM vs Engine load? KR vs RPM vs Timing ADV? KR vs RPM vs Coolant temps?

I can pull down most anything with this software.

180ยบ thermo wont help, lowering the coolant temp wont do anything, niether will an intake, its there for sound.

You are going to have KR no matter what being that the car is stock.

5-6* KR at the top of the shift is normal for a stock car.

I wouldn't mind seeing if KR drops a tiny bit with either an intake or 180* thermo. I doubt it will but still.

ok here is what should be done after you get your base line.

    1) make sure it has 91 or higher fuel in it. never know if someone put regular in

    2) since your set on it put your intake and 180* tstat in.
-minimal cost since you have planned for this.

    3) get a new set of plugs. if you have more then 5* of KR i'd say drop autolite 605's in and gap at like .055
    -$15 or less

    4) if it still has the Ubend in the exhaust have it removed. you can either buy a new 2.5" or 3" DP or take the car to a local shop and have a new pipe welded in with a O2 bung for the rear O2.
-$30 at a local shop to $150 for a new down pipe shipped to you.

this quick list would be what i would do if i were keeping it mostly stock. personally i would just get some Speed daddy headers and upgrade the exhaust all at one time vs spending $150+ on a down pipe.
