i am getting probably 15 for mixed and other then a few punches a week i drive relatively preservative. what should i start to check it. it starts fine and has random misfires at idle and low acceleration up a hill.all the plugs are new(5k miles) along with new ac delco wires at the same time also cleaned all the terminals on the battery packs and put a nice amount of di-electric grease on everything.

    What plugs?

    Clean air filter?

    Clean the MAF sensor.

Any other engine codes? SES on?

Buy a new upper o2 sensor, if original.

    What year of car?

    Tire's properly inflated?

Random missfires could indicated a bad plug, wire, or coilpack.

30 is too low IMO. I always do 34-36 psi.

What gap did you put them at. I do .050 to .055.

Add ICM to this list as well as bad gaskets.

Factory tire reccomendation is 35, I run mine a little higher.

You clean the maf by spraying MAF cleaner on the sensor. Don't use anything but MAF cleaner.

You said you have a catless downpipe, any other mods?

Its a possibility that the catless downpipe is your issue since you don't have a pcm.

I forget the details on how that system worked before 01 though. I know 01+ Needed an O2 simulator or tune.

sLpGPGT My 05 N/A 100% stock gets 30 MPGs, you're doing something wrong.

I guess this hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet. Don't rely on your DIC for accuate mileage estimates.

Do the math manually for the best results. Gallons / Miles = MPGs takes about 10 seconds to do before leaving the pump.

HMMM...After cross multiplying, Gallons squared = Miles squared.
Think you better check your math. LOL

did you replace your fuel filter? are you using 93 octane? your rear having a code up could effect your mileage, as said before, try to find someone local who knows how to tune and have them give you a custom one. that will help alot.

once i get my 3.4 i will be getting a tune also i have been told that for 00 the rear o2 sensor doesnt effect the pcms fueling only the front sensor also i have nothing in my trunk i am running 91 octane(Highest we have in nd) and i had this ****ty mpgs before the dp too and i do go by my dic but i still can only get about a week out of a tank between school and work which is MAYBE 35 miles a day if that

skip the 3.4 with only a downpipe, you'll make things worse.
