i figured thats what i was gonna do as far as p&p i just didnt know if i should replace any bearings in the snout or if the needle bearings should be replaced
How worn are they?
im not sure...how could i tell?
typically when the engine is idling you'd hear bearing noise coming from the blower.
if you remove the blower belt and its much quieter, it's the blower.
Well it wasn't on the car it came with it when i bought it....the guy I bought it from said he picked it up for a hundred dollars because it was cheap....he said it came off a bonnie with 50 some thousand miles on it....but that's a story from a story so I'm not sure
Is there any other way I could tell?
Not that I'm aware of.
Would I be able to hear it just by spinning it by hand?
How much work would it be to replace the needle bearings and the bearings in the snout?
There are write ups somewhere.
You need a press or sockets to tap them in.
Are you sure your blower is making excess noise?
I think It's fine I was just wondering if i should bother replacing them since I'm gonna be doin a couple other things on it or should i just leave it
If you cant do it yourself it can get pretty pricey.
You can typically pick up a nice used blower for $100 or less.
So I got a 2000 bonneville Ssei n the lady said when the belt broke n pulley came off the super charger the supercharger hasn't worked since she was told the bearings in the super charger are probably bad would it be cheaper to have just the bearings changed or should I just change the whole thing? It just kinda chugs instead of the supercharger kicking in and you can hear a kinda clicking noise coming from the supercharger
used blower would cost less.
