Anyone know where I can get Jardine Doug Thorley mufflers? I found this video clip of an '04 GP CompG with Thorley exhaust but apparently no one sells just his mufflers, or atleast I can't find them.. I really like the way this set up sounds... Every other kind of free flowing exhaust sounds like SH*T on these cars... I changed my exhaust 4 times on my '97 cause it was annoying and raspy...

From what I have read about them, they are a fairly pricey mfg. But I have read that they are very well built.. And I like the sound... I would be willing to take some suggestions... I know ZZP has a whisper resonator but I don't know what it will sound like... I like the sound the sound of 40 series flowmaster but only at idle...You rev it up and it sounds like a ricer...

Yeah, I think the exhaust is a very touchy thing on a V6. I have long believe that if someone figured up the frequency of the exhaust pulses (of course they will change with RPM, but you could do so for the range in which you drive most) you could design an exhaust system that had a much better sound rather than just piecing things together hoping for something that sounds good.

It wouldnt be necessarily easy, but I fully believe if it were done it would sound extremely good because you would be taking into account the natural frequencies and resonance of the exhaust.

that is waaaaayyyy too much work for any vendor or privateer to do for an exhaust. there is no gain in doing anything like that.

Well I never said it would be easy, and it certainly is not something I expected a vendor to do, but in my mind it would be the proper way to do things as you would have complete control over the final sound of the vehicle. Furthermore I dont always do things just for performance gains. I do things to learn, to improve, and sometimes just to test out ideas.

Well, just because it doesn't rasp, doesn't mean it sounds good... I mean I don't know what all of your exhaust systems sound like but I will say I have heard one yet that I personally like... It seems like if it flows good... It's annoying...

Keet check out what I just put on my CompG. I love it, it sounds great. I just put a sound clip and pictures up in the tech section under my exhaust thread. But here's the sound clip link. It has a very nice growl to her, and she is not noisy at all inside the cabin.

Now the only thing I didn't keep from the Corsa was the tips. I wanted to keep my SPO tips on instead. The 4" Corsa tips were just too big for me. But I am glad I decided to get this set-up, instead of something else.

And of course the exhaust has only been on since Friday, so it's still in a break in period. And at idle it sounds good, just imagine what it sounds like when I'm actually driving. So let me know what you think, and if you have any questions.

I definitely like the sound of that setup... I wish I could just buy the mufflers... They want your soal for that system...
