A month ago I replaced the lower intake gaskets due to coolant leak. Buttoned everything back up and runs great. No more losing coolant. Put in a 180* stat, flushed the radiator, and drained all the old coolant I could (radiator, front knock sensor, could not get to the rear knock sensor)

Most of the time the cars temp is on the first big line. But it seems that after I get off the highway, the temps climb. Town driving, I am at the second big line.

Any ideas why still running hot?

    Thanks

For a 2000 GP the second line is 210f, which for sitting in traffic without the a/c on is not hhot, but within factory spec.

System was bled, and I just rechecked again, no air. My no contact thermometer reads just under 200* on both upper and lower hoses with out the fans on. Fans came on with a reading of about 210*.

I guess it is OK, I just have more needle movement now than I did before.

    Thanks

Yep, you're right where you belong temp-wise. These motors just run hot.
