Should be able to. Dampener might have chunked and caused an issue, but that's not super common.
Sitting back, waiting to see how the heck this is happening.
(Thoughts to self: Ok, Being Brandon, I must thing outside of the box....like miles outside. The answer is probably here. How, how how? Boy I wish he posted some pics of that chain install. )
Including the abuse that new chain and tensioner went through will help diagnosis. I take it you still haven't checked it yet.

Just don't think everyone read through them so the background would help. I think he should check it out before the annoying metallic scraping noise becomes a bigger issue.
