Look into the heat rating of those hoses. Then think about your underhood temps vs the coolant temp. Most clear hose is not rated for the temps we'd see underhood.

I agree.
Heater hose is the ideal tubing for the intercooling system.
Under hood temperatures reach 140-200* F depending on the area.
Meanwhile a typical intercooler fluid temperature is still rather close to ambient before heat soak takes place.
Plenty of opportunity for the hose to absorb heat and transfer the energy to your intercooler coolant.
