What do you guys think would be the better choice? Not that I'd be doing anything to soon just really wondering. If you only need the injectors and a tune then it would be cheaper to just do e85. An intercooler would still be in the future but just wondering which would be best to save up for to really drop pulleys.

e85 MIGHT be a little on the cheaper side, but an intercooler is also a good choice. both of them would be a good mod to start with.

E85 is good to kill at least 7-10*kr from what i've observed so far, and that may be an understatement. It's readily available in Iowa and you basically need #65 inj. and a fuel pump rewire wouldn't hurt for your setup. For an intercooler, plan on spending at least $800. It's nice to be paying $2.09 a gallon for 104-5 octane!

youll have to switch back and forth from e85 to regular gas each fall/spring when it starts getting cold out. i wouldnt run e85 in the winter as its harder to get the car started. im pretty sure it gets just as cold in IA as it does in WI.

Ya it gets pretty cold here too. Mainly the wind here. I don't drive the car everyday in the winter anyways. Just around town for a few errands.

Im going to run it through the winter... It took maybe a couple seconds longer to start when it got down to 28 degrees one morning but to me that was normal. We'll see how it does when its colder.

I know a tune and new injectors would be great but has anyone tried this....
E85 conversion kits - e85 kits - FLEX FUEL CONVERSIONS - Full Flex International is now Fuel Flex International- Full Flex Gold and ECO Flex Platinum USA Distributor flex fuel - Pulstar Spark Plugs

If you want to switch back and forth but you don't get a tune. Plus for the cost you could go the other way.

That's what I was thinking. So for the tune with e85 it wouldn't be much different then tuning any other set up right?

Bio what do you do? You are on here all day long lol.

im getting laid off as of tomorrow. i dont give a ****. im at work right now.

no, you just have to tune the injectors to push about 30% more fuel with e85. then from there you tune it normally.

I've been thinking of converting to E85 to. Is there a writeup anywhere or is it that simple other than tuning? I won't really have to worry about cold starts here in FL to much.

you need 65# (or better) injectors and a tune to run a lot more fuel. that is it.

besides changing the fuel filter a couple times since the ethanol will clean out your gas tank.

Basically change your IFR table twice. First time do the change for #65 injectors and tune it on regular gas, that way you have something to fall back on and your tune is closer when you actually change to E85. When you step up to E85, I started by adding 37% to my IFR table. Then just did a few maf tunes from there.

The procedures vary from hptuners to powrtuner, but this is what I did in powrtuner to get close to correct IFR table:

    Stock Injectors = 33.7 Mototron #65 inj. = 65

    33.7/65 = .52~ Highlight all cells in IFR table > Custom > Percent > 48~
OR easy way - Right click on IFR > Import > From File > #65 inj.

To add the fuel for E85 -

Add 30-40% to IFR table - Highlight all cells in IFR table > Custom > Percent > 135

Then do a few maf tunes, check your IPW's and leave the tune a little on the rich side if possible... Wouldn't hurt to change your fuel filter a few times, first time you get through a full tank, then again after 2 more tank fills.
