    this might be a dumb question but, does the fuel pump slow down when you are low on fuel?

    No, however in a Supercharged of say 97-03 (I'm unsure on 04+) there is a resistor that lowers the pump speed when you are below a certain throttle percentage.
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    bill--is that resistor bulit into the fuel pump(the module) or is it an external componet?

    External. Originally located behind the washer pump under the bumper
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    just on the signal wire to the pump?...
    the reason i ask is because a friend of mine has a 98 gtp and they took it to the shop for maintence and they were told that the car is running rich at idle and they were told that is was the fuel pump resistor and wanted 400 to fix it?..woundering if its the same thing?
