i have only 1 setting thats #5 1,2,3,4 do not work when i got the car i was told it was the bcm thats why the DIC cuts out when a/c is turned on and thats why there are no curtisy lights. also i wanted to recharge my ac because its blowing out a warm air not cold. how do you recharge the a/c and if possable could you show a picture because the recharge cans say to recharge the low side and it only fits the high one closer to the firewall so i'm lost can some one help me?

I believe by low side they're talking about low pressure side.
I did the recharge in a can thing back when I first got my car in '07, helped a little bit for a while. If you have $200 to spend, go to a reputable shop and have it leak tested/filled. Just my suggestion.
..don't forget to check fuses first

The low pressure side is the one by the firewall.

Without knowing what year/model you have its hard to be sure but the blower resistor runs all fan speeds except high. Give me a little more info and ill look up the schematic.

Get under the dash and see if you got power to the blower motor in all settings if only have it in 5, unclip the harness from resistor and check to make sure you have a power the jumps around when you switch the setting. If you do replace the resistor, if not its more than likely the switch.

A can of 134A with the connector on it will only fit the low side. The high side fitting on the A/C system is larger. You can't hook things up backwards. If you did, the can will explode.

I also would have a shop charge the system, it will blow a lot colder if they pull the system in a vacuum first.

Ok I got the ac recharged its cold.now thanks for all your help.... I got an auto I believe once I turn to ac then all I have to do is turn on the blower but it does have a ac switch which is pointless because I never have to push it......so there is no way any of this has to do with the bcm

unplug resistor (connector going into blower case near blower motor) and set fan speed to low, you should have poweron the yellow wire, go to next setting and test the tan wire. If voltage is good then check the black ground wire for any signs of burn damage. If its good then replace the blower resistor.

I know what's wrong with ur car . It sounds like what my car had , try changing the ignition switch , that should solve all ur little problems

If it acts up again, check for 12V at the HVAC/DIC fuse. Mine was intermittent and I would sometimes lose the A/C compressor when the headlight switch was in the "Off" (DRL) position. DIC didn't work right, blower speeds didn't always work, sunroof even acted funny.
Everything now works perfectly after replacing the ignition switch.

Ok ill get that all checked this weekend I want to check again that this could not be the body control module because don't that control power to the accessories like the dic and a/ c I'm trying to single it down I heard lot about the ignition switch and the blower resistor and I find it weird about the bcm because I hear I light snap from the bcm by my left foot when I turn on the blower

The ignition switch that u have to change is the wires with the harness one , I got mine @ autozone ignition switch with floor panel ,

It is an assembly that includes the switch and harness.

the low side is near the fire wall. Easy way to remember what side is low and what side is high, is LOW side always is the LARGE line.L & L in other words.
If your fan settings just don't work, its usually the resistor. Usually you end up replacing both at the same time, the resistor AND the fan. If you do have to get a resistor, spend the few extra bucks and get a GM one from the dealer, the parts stores ones are junk, and usually last a year or so.
If your fan settings don't work, AND your DIC is messing up, then is normally the ignition switch. You have to remove the top and bottom covers on the steering column, and remove the cover under the dash, and the one above the pedals on the drivers side to remove and reconnect everything. Its a plug and play installment. Same with the resistor, I recommend getting a GM one for this part as well.
